DETERMINING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PERCEIVED SPOUSAL SUPPORT AND STRESS LEVELS ON THE MOTHERS OF CHILDREN WITH BONE MARROW TRANSPLANTATION

This study was carried out to determine the relationship between perceived spousal support and stress levels of mothers children undergoing Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT). The 150 who were under treatment at Istanbul Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital BMT Unit constituted sample. Data collected using “Data Collection Form”, “Spousal Support Scale” “Perceived Stress Scale”. Chi-square, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Independent t-test, One Way Anova test used evaluate data. Mothers' education, work, having another child socioeconomic status, number children, place residence, family structure, consanguineous marriage, social security, presence chronic disease, a disease in member for support; Complications after performed found be predictive level. As result research, it determined that as spouse increased, mothers' continued increase their coping skills stronger with support.
